Finding a Partner

For faculty who are interested in COIL but need to find an international partner, there are two main ways that you can explore possible partnerships: (1) search within your professional networks and (2) partner matching or partner networking websites.

Before beginning your search for an international partner, it is helpful to review your interests and your curricular goals. Think about:

  • What course content are you most interested in exploring with another faculty partner?
  • What geographic or global perspective(s), if any, would best fit your course content?
  • Are there languages or cultures that would best align with your course content?

Do you have colleagues in the region(s) of the world you are interested in? Do any of your colleagues?

Does your college have a partnership with other colleges and universities in the region(s) of the world you are interested in?

Are you a member of any professional or disciplinary associations that could help you connect with a partner or college?

Are you a part of an academic or professional listserv where you can post a short description of your interests for collaboration?
